“What am I hoping to do?” A new answer.

There’s this question a few people have asked recently. Hearing I’m going to university to do a photography degree, people ask what I’m hoping to do when I’ve finished.

And why not. I’d probably ask the same.

When they asked that at the interview, I had a prepared answer ready:  “I don’t know yet, that’s why I want to devote three years studying; to experiment with genres and styles I’ve never tried, to find my niche, to focus my interest.”  Yes, I did use the word focus. Clever pun, I thought.

Since then, people asking have just had a simple “I don’t know”.

But today at church someone asked that very same question. Maybe being at church gave me inspiration for a better answer. He asked:

What do you want to do at the end?

And I said:

Not work in an office any more.

Yep, that’ll do me fine.
