I’ve been a Mac user since about 1994. I hope I’m not too much of an Apple fanboy, but since my first computer (a Mac Performa 6200, if you’re wondering) I’ve just found that things generally work. We’re always hearing of friends who have constant problems with their PCs. Stuff not working, data lost, viruses and the like, and in 16 years of regular use we’ve had virtually no problems.
But this morning our iMac G5 wouldn’t switch on. I’ve had a look inside:
It’s the first time I’ve looked inside. I’ve followed a couple of diagnostic procedures from the Apple Support website, and I suspect it’s the logic board.
I’m phoning these guys in the morning. Wish me luck.
